Hey there, Dragonstick. Not sure why it matters if you have a Mac or not? All you need to do is put your update files on a blank (< 32GB) microSD card formatted in FAT-32 and you should be good to go. Hit up our support guys at support@insanejeepaudio.com and they'll help step you through it.

Nevermind when I extracted the files it placed them in a folder instead of on the SD card. Got it updated

I’m also having a problem with upgrading my JK1001 to a newer version of the update. Mine must be the original version since it’s dated 17.29.10. My problem is that I can’t unzip the file to my sd card on my regular computer. It DL’ed fine but it won’t unzip to my sd card even though I changed all items DL’ed to my computer to the D: drive, which is my sd slot. I know its the right slot because I’ve DL’ed all kinds of stuff to it like photos, files, etc. Any other ideas to try? While I’m on here, I’ll also say that I have never been able to DL any type of music to play off of my sd card. All the music I have tried or found requires a program with it like Spotify, which I spent hours DLing music on and even DL’ed the Spotify app onto my JK1001 but was never able to listen to it offline like when I am driving. It would show all the songs as DL (green indicator) but after I’d get on the road, nothing would play, they’d just be gray. I had written about this before and followed all instructions to no avail. After spending like 20 hours DL music and not getting any joy I finally just gave up. Does anyone know a site that lets you buy JUST songs without having to use their player or program to get them to work on my head unit. I got to where I just listen to the radio or CDs I recorded. And yeah, my sd card is formatted correctly. Kinda sucks.

JAHII, I know you mentioned your card is formatted correctly, and I assume by this you mean it is formatted to FAT-32? What size SD card are you using? If you are using a high capacity SD card with a large number of files you may want to try formatting your SD card to NTSF. Also, you will want to unzip the software update files on your computer before you move them to the SD card.

In Spotify Settings, if you scroll all the way to the bottom, you are able to choose where you would like to store your offline music. Pandora also offers a convenient and automatic offline mode, more info on that here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4344

As of now, we don't have any updates for the JK1001. We were offering an upgrade program for our customers. That program has technically expired, but if you'd like I can get approval for you to still participate.
