All,
It sure has been a while since the last update. Android has progressed significantly, especially with security and functionality. There are some fairly old posts here related to "the next update," and we would appreciate a candid response regarding the update road map for the JK1001. Thank you.

The reason for the radio silence is that our engineers have been working feverously on some incredibly awesome, super secret projects. We're a little behind schedule but we plan on releasing them in the next couple of months. Stay tuned for that!! We're sorry we can't say more at this time but our guys certainly aren't sitting around twiddeling their thumbs. We've got some incredible stuff in the works!!sting_nc_usa wrote:All,

As far as road maps go, these are updated every quarter! You can update your maps or get extras for Insane NavEngine through the NaviExtras toolbox. To do that, go to www.naviextras.com. Download the NaviExtras toolbox to a PC. Remove your GPS card from your Insane Audio head unit and insert into your PC and the software should automatically recognize it. (if you don't have a SD reader in your PC you can use a USB adapter).
Have an awesome day!

Definitely ready for a software update! I heard rumors about potential tuning software for the Jeep via an app loaded on the head unit. Any truth to that?

Getting the feeling this update isn't going to happen. My original post timing was well after previous commitments that we'd receive updates. C'mon guys, prove me wrong. A committed fan is starting to lose faith.
Re: Next software update...
As I heard it the JK1001 is a 32 bit platform and Andriod has switched to 64bit exclusively so it's quite likely one will never be seen. They are coming out with a JK2001 64-bit head unit that's got Andrioid 6 or 6.1...

Re: Next software update...
That is true, however we will still continue to support the JK1001 and provide free software updates (i.e. new features, enhancements or bug fixes) but the JK1001 will remain on android 4.4 given the chip architecture.dwasill wrote:As I heard it the JK1001 is a 32 bit platform and Andriod has switched to 64bit exclusively so it's quite likely one will never be seen.
