Hello,
What is the likelihood for compatibility on a 2012 Ram 2500? The dimensions physical look the same. The connections in the rear also look compatible.

Will it fit? Highly likely.

Will it plug into your stock wiring harness? Highly likely.

Will it work with your vehicles canbus codes for things like steering wheel controls? Unknown.

Our recommendation would be to give it a try and see! Our friends at 4 Wheel Parts have a pretty good return policy so we're sure that you could always bring it back to a store near you if you run into any difficulties. (assuming you have a 4 Wheel Parts near you, of course)

Everything should work... even your steering wheel controls. If there is a 4 Wheel Parts store near you, our recommendation would be to purchase from them (either online or have the store order it).. then on the slim chance that you have a problem, you don't even need to go through the hassle of mailing it back. You can just return it directly to the store.

If you end up installing one, post up a pic and we'll send you a free Insane Audio t-shirt as one of the first few customers to install this in something other then a wrangler!

I just tired to install the JK1001 in a 2012 Grand Cherokee, and the factory mounting locations are different than the JK1001. Everything hooks up and works fine even the steering wheel controls with the exception of the call button. I wasn't going to try and make it mount up, but I imagine that you could in some shape or form.

OK, I did make it fit in a 2012 Grand Cherokee. Like I said in the previous post, everything works up to par with it even steering wheel controls. The only modification that you have to do to make this work is cut the plastic mount on each side of the head unit in half. So if you were to take it out of the Jeep to install in a JK, you can still screw it down in the factory locations. Attached is a picture where I cut each side of the plastic, and a picture of the unit installed.

Thank you for the update! That looks awesome in your Grand Cherokee. Do you have any pictures of the mounting you had to make? That would be great to see on the forum.
