I just installed a sub and amp in my Jeep with a JK2001. When I tires the Key leads they have no power to them to work the remote on ththe amp. I tried both key 1 and key 2 and neither one would give the amp power. I ran a lead from the battery to the remote on the amp and it worked. So I know it’s not an issue with the amp. Is there away to turn those leads on.
Also I installed the amp RCA’s to the rear RCA outs. I see the unit had a sub out and you can control it from the EQ settings. But there is only one RCA no L R side like on the amp.
Thank you.

Re: Amp and sub install
Hi there! To power your amp you will want to cut (not tap into) the blue wire running between the black and grey plugs on your wiring harness and wire your amp to the side going into the black plug (head unit side). The sub needs to be connected to the green SUB WOOFER plug on the RCA pigtail. To connect your subwoofer, you will want to use an RCA Y adapter cable, something like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005D ... UTF8&psc=1 . Remember, with Insane Audio you get lifetime tech support and a company who stands behind everything we build 100%. Please reach out to our support staff www.insaneaudio.com/support, this way we can email annotated photos of the wiring described above. Thanks for reaching out, let us know how it goes!

Per the post above, is this still the proper way to create a turn-on wire for an amp on a JK2001? To confirm, I'm to cut the blue wire and connect the lead running to the head-unit to my subwoofer amp? Cutting the wire won't cause any other issues? Thank you.

Yes, this is the proper way to wire your sub-woofer. There are two Blue wires in between the black and grey plugs of the main wiring harness. The blue wire which has been labelled 'SUB-WOOFER', should be cut (not spliced) and crimped with the wire to your sub-woofer amp. You should not be cutting into the other blue wire.
Cutting into the wire labelled 'SUB-WOOFER' will not create any other issues.

Re: Amp and sub install
So - I only had 1 blue wire running from the black to the gray connector, and it was unlabeled. In any case, after checking voltage with a test light to confirm it was powered with the head-unit on, I cut the wire and have successfully connected it to my sub and it provides the necessary voltage to turn on the amp.
I had a bit of a scare when the amp shut down while testing the amp/sub and then saw the JK2001 start flashing on and off and wondered "what the heck?!". Turns out I had run the battery down while testing and once recharged, all worked well. I guess my 600 watt JL Audio amp really sucks the amperage?!
Thanks as always for your timely response and assistance.

Glad to hear we were able to help

Re: Amp and sub install
Would this work on a JK4001? Cut wire 19 labeled AMP CONTROL (blue/white wire) and splice end from black connector to remote AMP wire going to amp. Leave end leading to gray OEM connector unconnected? DO NOT TAP ... only splice to black connector side?
